This passenger and cargo steamer tragically sank during a cyclone in 1911, taking 122 lives with it. Resting at a depth of approximately 30 metres, the wreck has transformed into a vibrant artificial reef teeming with marine life, including giant groupers, sea turtles, manta rays, and colourful corals. The Yongala offers an unforgettable diving experience, making it a bucket-list destination for divers worldwide.
