The SSI Advanced Adventure course is the popular first step in continuing your dive education. One of the biggest advantages of an Adventure licence is that it expands your legal depth limit form 18 metres (with an Open Water) to 30 metres 98 feet, opening up a whole new range of scuba diving possibilities!
Easily one of the most fun courses for diving, it is designed to expand your diving skills and knowledge and to give the inexperienced diver added confidence in their diving.
Our SSI Advanced Adventure course can be added to any of our certified dive packages 5 of these dives will be training dives required to complete your SSI Advanced Adventure Certification and the remaining dive will be a recreational dive for you to enjoy the spectacular world of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.
About our SSI Advanced Adventure Course
There is no formal bookwork or examinations involved with this course, but you are required to participate in theory discussions with your Instructor prior to participating in the training dives.
Your 5 SSI Advanced Adventure course training dives are made up of 3 core dives: ‘Underwater Navigation’ ‘Deep Diving’, and ‘Night Diving’ and then 2 additional specialty dives: ‘Underwater Naturalist’ and ‘Boat Diving’. Other elective scuba dive options may be available.
Pre-requisite for this course is an Open Water certificate – either SSI, PADI, or the equivalent certification with another training agency.
Students must provide 2 x passport photographs required for certification.
Minimum age is 12 years. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or adult over the age of 18.
The SSI Advanced Adventure Course is $150 per person in addition to your trip onboard Reef Encounter, and is one of the best courses on offer for both experience and value.
